有關舊車入台灣海關之問題

本人為一個在澳洲求學的留學生, 有個問題想跟各位大大請教一下, 約在一年多前, 在澳洲買了一台車齡約十年左右的中古車, 因為實在很喜歡這台車, 所以有意在學業結束返台時, 將此車運回台灣作一般自用小客車, 但是問題是, 此車為右駕版本, 並無法在台灣合法上路, 本人有意將之運回台灣後將之換成左駕的. 請問, 這種情況下可以入關? 如不能通關的話, 那如果澳洲就已換為左駕的, 此舉有辦法通關嗎?<br>感激不盡.<br><br>

Many abroad students would have same situation: want to bring the beloved car back to Taiwan. Please consider following conditions,
1. What model is it? Which year? Can you get convenient maintenance in Taiwan?
2. How's the "value" of that car? Will you drive it for another 10 years?
3. Once in your life, you may bring one car back home with tax beneficial. You'd better make a clever and objective decision.
Some people brought very special model back then must suffer long lead time and high cost while maintenance required. Some people brought very popular model but rather old one back. Then he realizes he can get a much better one in Taiwan with same effort.
The most smart way is to bring a new model, 1~2yr old only, super car back and resell it. The difference can support you to buy a nice one in Taiwan. But you must build the resell channel in advance.
Everyone has his beloved ones during whole life. Sometimes good memory could be much better in the long run.

I agree! I just gave up my Acura CL3.0 b/c I figure it out it might not be a good decision to bring it back here in Taiwan.
